My passion for web design dates all the way back to middle school. When I was a 7th grader, I took Web Design/HTML as an elective. While taking this class as a young girl, I fell in love with the art of coding & designing a website. Beyond being entertained with writing tedious code, having an enthusiastic teacher really helped water the soil for my love of web design to grow. Thinking back on this reminds me of how having a great teacher can make such a huge difference and a heavy impact on a child’s life - and in some cases it can make or break their success.
When my class ended for the semester, l left with 114% in the class (I think this only happened because my teacher was secretly acknowledging that all of the boys in my class were asking me to do their coding for them hah!), and I continued to practice coding on my Myspace page. I felt pretty cool having a custom html profile that all of my friends were jealous of. Insert smirky face.
About five years ago, I started typing away at the keyboard again and working side projects helping people out with their websites; little did I know I would have my own business and make it a full time job just a couple years later.
This is all goes show that my DNA has had web code written all over it from the begining. (Probably thanks to my Mother who has been in the computer biz her whole life.) I would have never of thought as that 7th grade girl that I would be where I'm at now; 23 years old and lucky enough to have my own business and clients that I absolutely love working with!
I enjoy web design at such a high level because not only do I get to take an idea from scratch and watch it come to life, but I get to see my clients dreams get built as well - that is my absolute favorite part.
